Thursday night week one

We are home for the evening. A friend wants to drop off dinner. I never turn down someone else cooking. Neither do my boys. Anything is better than Mom's cooking. Tom joked that it was the smoke from all the dinners that made Riley sick.

Trevor picked up the mail. We had valentines from Gigi and Big. Trevor had his test done for matching donor. We all laughed, it was similar to CSI, but they dont use long cutips. They look more like eyeliner applicators. They scrape the side of the cheek for 20 seconds apiece with four different sticks so they are sure to get a good read. The boys couldn't resist touching the first one with their fingers and contaminating the sample. The technician had to go get another tester as a result. We get the results back next Thursday.

We found out our insurance is good. We have decent coverage. This is one of those reasons why people gripe about the cost but still pay premiums every month.

  1. Good, I have been worried about your insurance. I am glad that's not one of your worries.

  2. More info on the donor would be nice. I know first they have to start with him, and closer the relationship is the better chance of a match. I am willing but with two family members now facing this I'd like to see if there is a way to be tested once to see if I was a match for either. I have no idea how the test is done so it may not matter.
