x- renters-cory

The x renters called and threatened the property manager. The renters told my property manager they had consulted a lawyer. They hadn't been sent their deposit check back yet. I told the property manager right away to send the check. I thought they had sent it on the 15th, after we spoke. I can't wait to have that problem behind us. We will all be happy to move on.

The property manager called later and said she had put it in the mail registered. I also sent her a confirming e-mail that the check was to be returned and that the contract had been canceled by the x renters. At the time of cancelation, I had asked for 48 hours but the renter had been firm. I told her I would have the check sent.

I sent a confirming e mail to my property manager this time, just to make sure everyone was in the loop with clear instructions. I also called and left a message on the x- renters phone stating the check had been mailed, that I thought it had been done the week she canceled, and hoped they find something else that works for them. Nice that I keep a blog. We have a record of conversations if the x renter pushes more. Little does she know I publish my life on line so my family and friends can keep up.

Thank goodness she canceled on us. She would have been a difficult tenant. I wonder if that is why her last landlord wouldn't accommodate her when I told her back in June that she couldn't get in early.

We still are waiting on the seller for the big house. Who knows if they will sign or not. I am hoping, but Tom says to not hold my breath. I looked at 12 more houses today. We have literally seen every house available to us that might work. I saw a couple that could substitute, but the one we want is still my favorite. If they decide to go to foreclosure, Tom says we will have to offer elsewhere. We wont wait.

The question of termites and that no one will be taking care of the empty house makes me wonder what another year of being abandoned will do to the house. We have seen a couple of foreclosed homes that are now bank owned. There is a neglected look to them. You wonder what the floors look like under the new carpets since the roof had to be recently replaced or what is hiding in the basements. FNMA reimburses the bank, and then turns around and spiffs the house up to hide the flaws.

Big sent me a foreclosure video that shows what a scam the government has created. We have no control, and yet it is our own tax payer money screwing us out of the house. They pay off the banks with such a sweet foreclosure deal that they have no incentive to accept a short sale. I can give it only one more week before we move on. Hard week this week.
