How many children does it take to empty the garbage. In my household it takes two strapping teenagers over an hour to figure it out. The cans were full and one has a bad wheel to give them a little credit. I had spilled the broken wheeled one over the other day myself. But I was able to quickly right it without too much mess to clean up.
Trevor was to take the garbage up the driveway to the street. Both big cans were full from the cleaning, the move, and the house warming party. He spilled the first can. He called for help. I send Riley out with rubber gloves for both of them, to help Trevor right the can and clean up the spill. They get out rakes and shovels. The mess was mostly paper, easily picked up while wearing the rubber gloves. My boys must make a production of it. The can gets cleaned up and together they get it to the street. It only takes thirty or forty minutes.
Trevor goes back for the second can. At the very top of the driveway he spills the second can over. I pretend I don't see it as I peek through the curtains of the upstairs window. I sigh. So much to do and this is only the beginning. Trevor comes in from his chore of taking the garbage to the street and asks for a break for all his hard work. All I wanted was the garbage taken up to the street. It wasn't that hard to do. I will call today and have the garbage company deliver a better can without a broken wheel.
